Fall has always been my favorite season — the crisp air, vibrant colors and a chance to slow down just a bit before the holidays. This year, the season feels even more significant for my family as we step into a new chapter: we’re officially empty nesters! As we adjust to life without children under our roof, we’re embracing the change with a mix of excitement and a little bit of uncertainty — wish us luck! This change in our lives sparked a story idea in this issue. I’m not quite ready to see their rooms change, but Laurel has some great ideas for when that time comes. Click here for the article.

Fall also brings some exciting changes here at HOME magazine. I’m thrilled to introduce our new editor, Jennifer Redmond. After falling in love with the Blue Ridge mountains back in 2005, Jennifer never left; and now, 20 years later, she’s developed strong local roots and has a true passion for the community at large — something that aligns beautifully with our mission to celebrate and connect with all things HOME. I also want to take a moment to thank Donna Dunn, our outgoing editor, for all the creativity and dedication she brought to the magazine. We wish her nothing but the best in her next chapter and are grateful for the mark she left on HOME.
And, of course, a sincere thank you to our advertising partners. Your continued support allows us to offer HOME as a complimentary resource — both through direct mail and at locations throughout the region — making it easily accessible and widely available to our community. We couldn’t do it without you.
We’re always on the lookout for fresh story ideas and distinctive homes that showcase character, creativity or a great story. Whether it’s a recent renovation, a historic gem or a home with a truly personal touch, we’d love to hear from you. If you have a suggestion — or know someone whose space or story deserves to be featured — please don’t hesitate to reach out!
